Bobby was born in Selma, Alabama on February 4th, 1952 to Robert and Lydia (Saucier) Horton. He was the third born of six children. His early childhood he spent in Biloxi, Mississippi where he had fond memories growing up and spending time fishing, playing baseball, and catching the bus to go watch movies with his older brother Bill. He and his family moved to Iowa Park in 1962 when Robert Sr. was stationed at Sheppard Air Force Base. He attended Iowa Park High School and was a trumpet player in the band. He worked at PPG for 38 years and retired in 2015. He had made many friends while working there and then later in his career got the opportunity to work alongside his younger brother Blaine when he started at PPG. Bobby was a very simple and straight forward man. He was known to be reserved and soft spoken, but a hard worker. Bobby was the type of person that if you asked for help or needed anything, he would be there for you. Bobby enjoyed spending his summers taking his family camping in Oklahoma, watching his boys play baseball and softball, and going back home to Biloxi. Bobby also enjoyed watching any type of baseball whether it was the Majors or the Little League World Series, but more than anything he enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and watching them grow up. He loved to attend their football, baseball, and soccer games, tennis matches, rodeos, and concerts and was incredibly proud of all of their accomplishments. His calming presence will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father Robert Sr.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years Judy (Mills) Horton, daughter Robyn Thornton of Forth Worth, son Robert and wife Kimberly of Iowa Park, and son Michael of Kamay, Texas.
