He graduated from Fullbright High School in 1949. He graduated from Gainesville Junior College and attended East Texas State Teacher College. He proudly served his country in the US Army. He began his career as an insurance agent in 1962 in Abilene, TX. In 1966, he moved to Iowa Park and later to Wichita Falls. He served two years as president of the Wichita Falls Insurance and Financial Advisors. He was very active in local and state associations. He also served as the president of the Texas Leader Round Table.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters; Venell Dickey and Rachel George Burner and son, Brent Wayne George.
Survivors include, his loving wife June, his step sons; Troy and wife Teresa Linthicum, Terry and wife Renee Linthicum, grandchildren; Ty, Trey and Glenna Linthicum, and special nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at 2 PM at Highland Cemetery in Iowa Park, TX.
