Calvin Lee Leonard was born to Vow and Rowena Leonard on February 25, 1935, in Collins, Missouri.
His early life was spent helping his parents on the farm, doing chores and caring for his brothers and sister. After graduating high school, he joined the United States Air Force in 1952, serving a tour of duty in Korea, during the Korean War and then 2 more tours of duty in Vietnam, before retiring after 22 years of dedicated and honorable service. Calvin married Carla Jean Taylor in 1957, together they had their daughter, Laura, and were happily married for 65 years. After his military service, he worked at Cryovac Sealed Air facility, where he retired after 19 years of employment and lived in Iowa Park, TX. He and Carla were loyal and faithful members of Grace Baptist Church, in Iowa Park, Texas, for 48 years. Calvin was a kind and generous man, who loved his family and friends. He had kind words for anyone he interacted with and was a pillar in the community.
Calvin is survived by his wife Carla Leonard, Iowa Park, his daughter Laura Bosley, Wichita Falls, his brother Jim Leonard, Kansas, 5 Grandchildren: Johnny Bosley and wife Becky, Micah Bosley, Kaci Bosley, Cory Bosley and Matt Bosley, 4 Great Grandchildren: Austin Bosley, Hannah Bosley, Claire Bosley and Easton Bosley, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at Dutton Funeral Home Chapel from 6 to 8 PM.
Graveside service will be on Friday, November 18, 2022 at 11 AM, at the Highland Cemetery Pavilion in Iowa Park, Texas.
