MACINTYRE, Mary Jane "Jean" Age 86, of Judique, went to her eternal rest on October 30, 2017. Born in Melford, Inverness Co., on December 23, 1930 she was the daughter of Hugh & Cassie (MacInnis) MacMaster. Mom was a devote Catholic, humble lady, loving mother, nana, friend and neighbour. Her door was always open to make sure everyone had a bed to sleep in & were fed, including the furry & feathered friends. Nana’s cookies, pies and biscuits were always a popular staple in the cupboard. Mom enjoyed playing cards, bingo and entertaining her friends. She was a member of the Judique Altar Society, parish lecturer and choir member, Kildonan Senior Citizens Club and was honored to be one of the first Eucharistic Ministers. One of her memorable accomplishments in her community involvement was being instrumental in bringing a Vietnamese family to Judique. As well as caring for her family, she was employed by Canada Post for over 18 years. Survived by her husband, Roddie of 63 years; children, Angela (Richard) MacDonald, Inverside; Donna (Robert) MacLellan, Judique; Brian (Maryanne), Judique; Sheila (Brent) MacDonald, Sackville; Glenn (Carol) Burlington, Ontario; brother, Donald (Mary) MacMaster, Shrewsbury, Mass.; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; two nephews and one niece and special friend, Dorothy. Predeceased by grandchildren, Morgan, Logan and Ryan who she missed dearly, and brother in infancy. The family would like to thank the Inverness County Homecare workers, Dr. Eagar and nurses of the ICMH & Palliative Care Dr. Ritter and nurses Lori Anne & Johnena, for their compassion and excellent care. Visitation will be held in the Community Room of the Judique Fire Station on Thursday, Nov. 2nd. from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held in St. Andrew’s Parish on Friday, at 11am with Fr. Allan MacMillan officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Donations in Mom’s memory can be made to Central Inverness Palliative Care Society, St. Andrew’s Parish cemetery or charity of choice.
