Mary Ann MacDonald

Age 78 of Glencoe Mills, passed away peacefully in Inverary Manor, Inverness, on Tuesday, September 19, 2017. Born on June 16, 1939, Mary Ann was the beloved daughter of the late Alex Angus and Katie Ann (Campbell) MacDonald. Mary Ann was a beautiful soul with a kind heart who loved to laugh and carry on. She was a devoted Catholic with a prayer and a smile for everyone she knew. Mary Ann had a very special place in her heart for the loving and caring staff at Inverary Manor and had many dear friends there. Mary Ann leaves behind a family who deeply loved and cherished her. She is survived by sisters and best friends, Mary Cassie (Collie) MacDonell, Annie Mae (Donnie) MacDonald and Jessie (late Angus) Beaton; and sister-in-law, Marion (Malcolm) MacLeod. Mary Ann treasured her nieces and nephews and will be so missed by Adrian, Francis, Jamie, Carol, Derrick, Corry, Rachelle, Colleen, Lisa and Melanie. She adored her 23 grand-nieces and grand-nephews. In addition to her parents, Mary Ann was pre-deceased by her brothers, Francis, John Dan and Donald; her brother -in-law, Angus Beaton; her special cousin, Isabel Campbell; and nephews Glen MacDonald and Dwayne Beaton. Visitation will be held in the vestry of St. Mary's Church, Mabou, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, September 22nd. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 23rd in St. Joseph's Church, Glencoe Mills with Fr. Bernie MacDonald officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Mary Ann's memory to the Inverary Manor, Inverness or St. Joseph's Cemetery Fund, Glencoe Mills.
