Born March 26th, 1950, Helen was the ninth child of the late Andrew and Marion Moran. Helen, or "Huddy" as she was known to her nieces and nephews, was born in Inverness, and grew up in Port Hood and later went to Mount Saint Vincent for social work. She served in this field in Halifax, New Brunswick, and Inverness County, until she met her future husband Bernie Campbell. They resided in Halifax for the first two years of their marriage, until moving to Port Hood where they made their permanent home.
Helen had a great love for all of her nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and grand-nephews; she would take every opportunity she could to spend time with them. She loved to hear about each of them, and what new and exciting things were happening in their lives. She treasured all of the pictures she received of each of them.
It was Helen's nature to want to help people, and often reached out to anyone who might need support that she felt she could offer.
Helen is predeceased by her parents, Andrew and Marion, step-father, Alex Fraser, husband, Bernie, and brothers, John, Heckie and Alexander Paul. She is survived by siblings, Pat (Marie), Andy (Faye), Neil (Margie), Danny (Margie), Betty (Edgar), Charlie (Loretta), Alice (Louie), Donald (Dena); sister-in-law, Marie (Barry) Irvine; nieces and nephews, Trisha, Kim (Todd), Andy, Bruce (Diane), Jennifer (Greg), Marion (Charlie), Mother Elizabeth (Lisa) Marie, Bev, Cheryl (John), Derek (Erika), Andrea (Roy), Paul (Caylanne), Robbie (Katherine), Nolan (Taryn), Jeremy, Brennan and many grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Dr. Ritter, Dr. Bennett, all the nursing staff, who Helen called "God's Little Angels", for their tremendous care and support given to Helen. We would also like to acknowledge the incredible dedicated care and unconditional compassion provided by Lori Ann MacDonald, Palliative Care Co-Coordinator, whose presence was a great comfort to both Helen and our family. We'd like to acknowledge the kitchen and cleaning staff of the hospital for their little chats with Helen, that provided her with little moments of happiness; thank you.
