Gregory James MacLennan

James Gregory MacLennan was called home to the Lord on July 19, 2014, in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family. Greg was born in Inverness on November 17, 1923, to the late Ronal D. and Christine Anne (MacDougall) MacLennan and was the last surviving member of his family.

He is survived by his partner off 39 years Mary Merlin; his son, Daniel (Mellissa) stepdaughter, Jane Kaiser (Carl), and stepson Michael; the light of his life, his grandson, Tanner, and grandchildren, Amanda, Charles and Curtis and great grandchildren, Olivia, A.J. and Joey. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Gregory was a proud life member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 132 in Inverness. Greg will be fondly remembered for his wit, sense of humour and kindness.

Visitation will take place in Inverness Funeral Home on Thursday, July 24, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, July 25, at 11 a.m. in Stella Maris Church, Inverness, with Fr. Duncan MacIsaac officiating. Burial to follow in the parish cemetery.
