Catherine Florence "Kay" MacEachern

Catherine, Florence MacEachern - With profound sorrow, the family of Catherine, Florence MacEachern announces her death in Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, on July 2, 2010. She was a resident of the Inverary Manor, Inverness. She was born in Broad Cove Chapel, Inverness Co.; Cape Breton and was a daughter of Donald Angus and Sadie (MacDonald) MacEachern from Mcaras Brook.

She is survived by a sister, Mary (Marten) O’Shaughnessy, Mississauga, Ont.; brothers, Allister (Kay), Lower Sackville; Dougald (Marion), Inverness; Malcolm (Barbara), Toronto; and Gerald (Brenda), Dartmouth.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Louise (Francis) Graham and Rose Marie (Ken) Smith; also brothers, John A. (Tina) and Donald Francis.

She worked for forty years in New York City from where she developed many lifelong friendships. Always kind and generous, she especially loved and enjoyed her many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held in Inverness Funeral Home on Tuesday July 6, from 2 – 4 and 7 -9 p.m. Funeral Mass and burial will take place Wednesday at 11am from St. Margaret of Scotland Church, Broad Cove with Father Duncan MacIsaac officiating. Family flowers only please. Memorial donations may be made to St. Margaret of Scotland Cemetery Fund, Broad Cove.
