 Obituario de Zavia Tipton
Ms. Zavia Ann Townsel was born on July 20, 1954, in Oktibbeha County, Starkville, Mississippi to Monroe Townsel Sr. and Mary Jane Jackson Townsel (both parents proceeded her in death). Ms. Zavia Ann Townsel family moved from Starkville, Mississippi to Chicago, Illinois, January 1959, where she attended Carpenter Elementary School, Tennison Junior High School and Crane High School. The family attended the St. Peter Missionary Baptist Church, where Zavia confessed her belief in God and was an active choir/member in church as a youth. In June of 1969 the family moved to Indianapolis, Indiana where Zavia attended Arsenal Technical High School, where she met the love of her life, Rev. Lyndal Jordan Tipton. After graduating high school, Zavia was pursuing her life’s ambitions, she attended Indiana Business College / Business Administrations. Zavia really enjoyed working with people. She loved singing, cooking, collecting different items, making clothes, and shopping. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Ann, what everone so lovingly called her, was employed with Jenn-Air (customer service) and was employed at Celadon Trucking Company (dispatch), and Wal-Mart when her health began to fail. MS. ZAVIA ANN TOWNSEL married Lyndal Jordan Tipton December 8, 1973 shortly after graduating from high school. The two strengthened this union with six children: ShaQuia L., Lyndal Jr., Ashunda L., JoVon C., Shyrie L.(deceased), Micha L. Tipton. The family attended Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, and Berean Bible Church where Zavia was an active choir/member in church. Ms. Zavia Ann Townsel Tipton slipped away Monday night, November 28, 2022, at the age of sixty-eight years, four months and 8 days. Nine siblings proceeded her in death (1) sister Anna L. Cannon: (8) brothers Willie A. Townsel “Buddy”; Johnnie Townsel Sr.; Joseph T. Townsel Sr.; Raleigh D. Townsel and Archie Townsel, Cleveland Townsel, Monroe Townsel Jr., James A Townsel. She leaves fond and precious memories with her children, (2) daughter ShaQuia L Tipton and Ashunda L Tipton; (3) sons, Lyndal J Tipton Jr., JoVon M Tipton and Micha L. Tipton; (2) granddaughters, Mi’Kayla McIntyre, Miarm Tipton (11) grandsons, Mar’Queses Tipton, Joseph Atkins, Michael and Ma’Quiel Wilson, Eric Bell Tipton, Jaden Tipton, Micah Jr. Lyndal III, Lazarus, and JaVon Jr. (4) great grandchildren, (2) great granddaughters, Madison and Isabella, (2) great grandsons, Kiree Moffitt, Mar’Queses Jr, all of Indianapolis, Indiana. (6) sisters: Bettie L. Townsel of Lithonia, Georgia, Mary A. Berry of Indianapolis, Indiana, Rosie E. Stennis of West Palm Beach, Florida and Larcenia Johnson of Starkville, Mississippi; Vickie Washington and Tracie Hampton, (3) brothers: Charley B. Townsel (Ernestine) of Chicago, Illinois and Tony R. Townsel of Indianapolis, Indiana; Kevin Tipton Sr., a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
