William affectionately known as “Bill” was an only child with big dreams. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Kansas City, Missouri and soon joined the United States Army.
In 1968, William united in holy matrimony with Lillian Paschal. From there, William, Lillian and Michael traveled abroad in the U.S. Army for 24 years. William did tours of duty in several countries – France, Germany, Korea, Japan, Vietnam and others. He also enjoyed stateside assignments in Hawaii, Washington State and many others states before settling down in Indianapolis, Indiana.
After retiring from the U.S Army, Bill worked for 21 years at the Finance Center as a Finance/Accountant. There he received a merit award based upon his efficient and professional performance as the acting Chief of Retired Pay & Accounting Division.
He confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and he and his wife Lillian united with Greater St. Mark Baptist Church in 2001 under the leadership of Reverend Joy L. Thornton, where he faithfully served as a Deacon and a Trustee until his health began to fail.
William and Lillian were married for more than 56 years. They were a quiet and private couple that loved and adored each other, they set an example of what true love looked like.
William leaves his love and fond memories with his devoted wife Lillian Davis, his son, Michael Davis and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
