After serving in the Navy during the Korean War, he went to work for Allison in Indianapolis as a stress analysis engineer. Bill worked on turbine engines for several different aircraft during his time at Allison until his retirement in 1989.
He and Ann enjoyed a long retirement together, working in their yard, taking trips to Williamsburg and Germany, making many long-time friends at Chapel Rock Christian Church and spending time with their grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bill had several hobbies, including woodworking and building stained glass windows and lamps.
He was predeceased by his wife, Ann Brewer, parents and a sister, Mary DeMay Tichenor. He is survived by his children, Leesa Schreiber, Marc Brewer, and David Brewer, as well as his grandchildren, Michael Schreiber, Angee Brewer, Lindsee Brewer, Chelsee Brewer, and five great grandchildren.
