As a young adult, Traci was full of fire and tenacity. She competed in the junior Olympics as a teenager, and played recreationally in her 20s and 30s. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in telecommunications in under 4 years while balancing the responsibility of being a single mother. Traci made a career for herself at State Farm, where she worked for nearly 30 years. She loved spending time with her family and friends more than almost anything, especially her grandkids. Traci was a practical jokester. Always scheming to surprise innocent bystanders, usually with herself as the butt of the joke. She was also a huge fan of live music, often boasting about the time she went to downtown Detroit to see Bob Seger when she was only 14. To honor her memory and help others who are struggling with the same disease she did, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Fairbanks Recovery Center, online at ecommunity.com/give or by mail at Community Fairbanks, 7330 Shadeland Station STE 150, Indianapolis, IN 46256.
Traci is survived by her children, Nicole Haight and Jesse Boyd; parents, Bob and Becky Boyd; grandchildren, Ruby and Dean Haight; siblings Mark Boyd, Laureen Edgerton, and Karen Van’t Hoff.
A memorial visitation for Traci will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Feeney Hornak Keystone Mortuary, 2126 E. 71st Street, Indianapolis, IN 46220. A memorial service will immediately follow at 1:00 pm. Traci always asked for a party at her funeral, so feel free to wear your party clothes if you’re up to it.
