Thelma Francis Lomax was born on April 10, 1940 to Lonnie and Francis Clark in East Bank, WV. Thelma made her parents proud, living her entire life by their loving example. Her adventurous streak was demonstrated by her elopement to California with Billy Lomax who she knew for only two weeks. This year they celebrated their 60th anniversary.
To Thelma family was everything and everybody was family. She was famous for her hugs which were always long and deep. Simultaneously with each hug was a whisper of endearment. She said her hugs were selfish because never did she give a hug that she didn't get one back.
Her accomplishments in life are long and varied. From bowling, golfing, quilting, professional clowning, retiring from Kohls, none were more important to her than wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. Even in her final hours she found moments to express her love and concern for each of us.
She leaves behind her loving and devoted husband, Billy Lomax; son, Billy Lomax Jr (Jennifer); daughter, Terri Miller (Gary); granddaughters, Angela Orta (Antonio); Amy Harnish (Craig); Victoria Lomax; grandsons, Jeremy Lomax (Erica); Justin Lomax (Hannah); and three great-grandchildren Anthony, Abigail, and Seeley. None are more heartbroken than her siblings, Mable Henderson (John), Quincy Clark (Priscilla), Kenneth Clark (Marcella), and her sweet angel, Jimmie Clark (Michelle).
She will always be in our hearts.
