Richard Henry Jones Sr.

Richard and Maxine Jewell were united in matrimony and from this marriage, came Richard and Linda.

On June 25, 1983, Richard was united in matrimony to McHelen Jones. No children were born from this marriage.

At an early age, Richard accepted Jesus Christ as his savior. Richard was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, and graduated from Catholic high school in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Richard bravely served his country as a member of the United States Army.

Richard worked as a nurse assistant at the Roudebush VA Medical Center for 31 years, retiring in 2011.

Richard had a deep passion for fishing and Peter, James and John had nothing on Richard when it came to that. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren. They were the apples of his eye.

He was preceded in death by his father Roy, mother Dorothy, sisters Evelyn and Mary and brother Roy.

He survived by his loving wife McHelen Jones, son Richard Jones Jr. (Carla), Kenny Barbee (Temiko), daughter Linda Jones, stepson Damon Johnson (Tammy), sisters Sharon Arnold and Lanora Warmack and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A visitation for Richard will be held Saturday, August 17, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Crown Hill Funeral Home, 700 W. 38th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46208, followed by a celebration of life at 1:00 PM.
