Preston Johnson fondly known as "PJ", lived in Indianapolis for many years and attended IPS #87 and Crispus Attucks High School. He professed his love for Christ at an early age and was baptized by his uncle the late Bishop Frank Tisdale, from the original Church of God in Christ.
Preston worked as a handy man, painter and simply was a jack of all trades. In 1991, he retired from Chrysler Corporation Foundry in Indianapolis. He had a love for fishing, bowling, and traveling.
Preston loved his family and got a kick-out of watching his great-grandchildren growing up. God extended his hand on August 22, 2018 and took Preston to be with him.
Preston is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Alice Johnson (Youngstown, Ohio), parents, a brother, William Johnson, a sister, Mary Brown, a daughter, Becky Francois, granddaughter, Shayla Davis, great-grandsons; Jadion Hill, Londin Gooch-Martin. He leaves to cherish his memories, a sister, Evangelist Bobbie Jean Parker(Rev. Alfred) of Los Angeles, California, children; Lydia Smith of Garland, Texas, Pamela Martin (Lee) of Indianapolis, Indiana, Laurann Efrati (Samuel), of Indianapolis, Indiana, Maurice Johnson (Joyce), of Indianapolis, Indiana, Morris Johnson (Johnnie) of Las Vegas, Nevada, Linda Kyser (David) of Indianapolis, Indiana, Leatha Johnson of Nashville, Tennessee and stepson Kenneth Webster (Sandra) of Indianapolis, other step-children, 19 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
