Mr. Michael C. McFarland, Jr., passed away Sun., June 30, 2013. He attended Leonard Public Schools in Leonard, MS. He was formerly employed with Hygrade Packing Co. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving in the Korean War. He was a former member of Good Samaritan Baptist Church were he served on the Usher Board. He was a member of Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church serving on the Usher Board for over 50 years. In 1994 he retired from National Starch and Chemical Co. He is survived by his wife, Leatha Townsend McFarland; sons, Eric, Michael and Rodrick McFarland; daughter, Wanda Harlin; sister in law, Dorothy Whittmore; brothers in law, Charlie Townsend and Robert Townsend(Ethel); a host of grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, loving relatives and friends. Funeral Service will be held on Sat. July 6, 2013 11:00 a.m. at Tabernacle M.B. C. 3101 East 30th St., with calling from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial in Crown Hill Cemetery.
