Mary Frances (Wilson) Webster was born in Indianapolis to A. D. Wilson and Lillian (Allen) Wilson on April 29, 1925. She graduated in the Crispus Attucks High School class of 1944. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Franklin College in Franklin, Indiana. She married Lodia E. Richards on June 22, 1946, in Indianapolis. They had three children: Lodia E. Richards, Jr (Mary), Deborah L. Anderson (Robert), and Damon Richards (Susie). She married William A. Webster in 1980. They enjoyed traveling and often dressed alike. She worked as a Payroll Specialist at the U.S. Army Finance Center at Fort Benjamin Harrison for 30 years, retiring in 1983. She was baptized at Mount Paran Missionary Baptist Church where she was an active member for more than 50 years. She was a member of Company B Club and the Usher Board. She served as the president of the Usher Board. She later became a member of the Church of Christ at College Avenue. After retirement, she participated in the Foster Grandparent Program in Indianapolis Public Schools where she was also a substitute teacher. She loved to bowl, participating in leagues with her family members. She was actively involved in the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards and games and solving crossword and jigsaw puzzles. She was affectionately known to her family and friends as "Little Mama." Mary was preceded in death by her parents, both her husbands, and her grandson Kerry M. Richards. She is survived by her three children, her seven grandchildren: Cheryl L. Wilkins, Monica J. Richards, Chaunda M. Anderson, Leigh E. Parrott (Stephen), Kimberley A. Woolen (Steven), Alexander D. Richards (Joubert), and Christopher R. Richards; and five great-grandchildren: Justin, Celeste, Jhalyn, Vivienne, and Naomi. Visitation will be at 11:00am on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at Crown Hill Funeral Home followed by the funeral service at noon.
