Mary Madelynn Hartzer Miller
89, of Indianapolis passed away on July 6, 2012. She was born on August 12, 1922 in South Bend, Indiana to Edward and Hilda Marbaugh Hartzer. She went to St. Agnes Academy and IUPUI. Madelynn was the executive administrative assistant with the Marbaugh Engineering Supply Company and also worked at Pratt Corporation. She was a member of the Little Flower Catholic Church where she was a lector, Eucharistic Minister, taught children liturgy and a member of the ladies club. She was also a member of Franciscan Association of Oldenburg, Legion of Mary, and IOTC and was involved with pet therapy at Community Hospital East. Madelynn is survived by her children, Mary Anne O’Bryan (Michael) Morrissey, Indianapolis, Michael (Lois) Miller ,Powder Springs, GA, brother Fr. John Hartzer, Lawrenceburg, Indiana, grandchildren Sheila O’Bryan (John) McGrath, Carmel, Cathleen O’Bryan Alaimo, North Andover, MA, Patricia O’Bryan (Kenneth) Yott, Zionsville, Daniel Patrick Miller, Powder Springs, GA, James Miller, Powder Springs, GA, and 8 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her son Richard Francis Miller and brother James R. Hartzer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday July 11 at 11 am at Little Flower Catholic Church. Visitation will be Tuesday July 10 from 5 – 7 pm, with a rosary service, at Feeney-Hornak Shadeland Mortuary and Wednesday from 10 – 11 am at the church. Memorial contributions in Madelynn’s name may be made to Little Flower Catholic Church.
