Margaret Pollard, 89, died October 12 in her Eastside Indianapolis apartment. She was born in Bedford, Indiana and lived most of her life in Indianapolis. She was married twice and is survived by her brother Larry Peyton, sister Elizabeth House, sons Michael and David Allee and their wives Halina and Debi and six grandchildren.
She worked several jobs over her lifetime, primarily at Union Federal Savings in downtown
Indianapolis. She was an accomplished seamstress making most of her own clothing as well as sewing costumes for the Indianapolis Opera Company for a period of time. She was an avid reader of historical novels, attended St. Matthews Episcopal Church, was a member of Mensa and made excellent apple pies for Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.
A family and friend’s gathering will be held at Crown Hill Cemetery North, Friday October 25th at 11 o’clock to be followed at noon by a brief service and the spreading of ashes in the Scattering Garden at Crown Hill Cemetery.
