Johnny Lee Slone, 82, a longtime resident of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Friday, May 20, 2022. Johnny was born on October 12, 1939 in Pippa Passes, Kentucky to the late Mitchell and Ada Slone.
Shortly after school, Johnny went on to serve our country in the US Army. He attended a technical college for automotives which later helped him in his career with Ford Motor. He retired from Ford after 33 years.
Johnny married Mary Ann Lewis in 1965, they made it almost 57 years together. He was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Indianapolis.
He may have left Kentucky, but he kept his love for Kentucky sports. Johnny was a big fan of the Kentucky Wildcats. He loved to represent his team's signature blue color in his daily outfits.
Johnny leaves behind his loving wife Mary Slone, his son Gregory Slone, one sister Mitzi Boggs, two brothers Donnie Slone and Alfred Slone. He also leaves behind his grandson who he loved dearly, Holden Austin Lee Slone as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Johnny is preceded in death by his sister Vonda Slone and four brothers Kenneth, Jerry, Rodger, and Marvin Slone.
There will be no public services scheduled at this time. Memorial contributions in Johnny's name may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023 Merrifield, VA 22116.
