I would bring holy communion to John every Thursday and sometimes I would forget why I came because I was distracted by one of his many funny stories.  As I'm sure everyone who knew him would agree, he had a lot of them; many of which I would share with my friends and family.  He was a war veteran (twice), had a very loving marriage, lived a long and happy life and WOW .... lived to be 104!  It was my honor to know John.

John was a very special person. His stories were so delightful to read.  He brought 1920 's  and 30's Kenton to life for all of us.

We will miss him, but we have so many memories to treasure and Snippets to read. My sympathy to Ron & Patty, Dan & Jane and all his loved ones. Thank you for enabling him to complete his projects these last several years, that kept him going. I hope you "boys" know how proud he was of you!

So happy we got to visit you a couple of years ago, was planning another one this summer...but God had other plans .. We will miss the family stories and genealogy information & you... Love you Great Uncle.. Give My boy Caleb a big hug for me.. 

I will miss my friend and his enlightening  stories immensely. My sincere sympathy to Dan, Ron & families. Our  “Kenton” Legend was such a treasure! ❤️

I am so sorry for your loss.  I was one of John's many Facebook friends and I will miss seeing his posts and learning about his life and the history of my hometown.
