Joan "Joanie" Elizabeth Powell

Joan Elizabeth Powell, Mom, Sister, Daughter, Friend. Joan was known to always be smiling. She had a warm welcoming presence. She was well read, loved learning and teaching, practiced her faith and had a zest for life. Joan had both her Montessori Certification and Realtor License. She was a Montessori teacher for 15 years. Joan loved teaching the preschool to first grade children. Children loved Joan for her patience, interest in them and her quiet approach to learning. Joan then chose the career path of Realtor. She enjoyed matching her clients with the right home. Joan always made her house a home. She enjoyed preparing beautiful meals for family, keeping her yard landscaped by continuous planting of state specific trees and flowers. She was known to have dogs, cats, birds and liked training them all! Joan had an eccentric side to her which made her a joy to be with. Joan will be missed by her children: Robin, Jason (Natsumi) and Tinora (Josh),stepsons, Dan and Patrick, granddaughter, Megan. She will be missed by her Sister Jan, Brother John, and all who cared for her at Copper Trace.
