Joan Scott Berg
93, Indianapolis, passed away on November 5, 2010. She was born November 17, 1916, in Chicago, IL to the late Alexander Straith Scott and Clara (Magnus) Scott.
She was a member Immaculate Heart of Mary and St. Matthew Catholic Churches and summer member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Gobles, MI.
Joan is survived by her children Barbara J. Leversen, Mary Ann Yates, Richard J., Matthew A. IV and Stephen A. Berg, her brother, Jack Scott, and special family member Iney Byfield. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Matthew A. Berg III, and her son James S. Berg.
Joan was a supportive and loving mother, grandmother, and wife of 62 years who could never pass an opportunity to be involved whether through an organization or a party. Her devotion to the Catholic Faith led her to being a founding member of St. Jude's Parish in Gobles, Michigan. She will be greatly missed by many.
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 10, 2010, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am, Thursday, November 11th in Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Catholic Church, Gobles, MI or to Fr. John Tasto - Missionaries of the Cross, Tijuana, MX, in care of Feeney-Hornak.
