

Jennie B. Bostic was born February 11, 1934, in Henry, Tennessee to Prentice Porter and Samantha Porter. She was the 4th of 12 children. She was educated in the Henry County public school system. She moved to Indianapolis, Indiana in 1954 and went on to graduate from beauty college as a cosmetologist.
She was married to Forest Bostic for 65 years. They were blessed with one Son, Fondrea Bostic. Jennie was a very loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a generous and thoughtful person. She always wore a smile.
She accepted Jesus Christ as her savior at an early age where she attended the Church of God in Christ in Henry, Tennessee. In 1969 she renewed her covenant with God and received the baptism of The Holy Ghost at Christ Church Apostolic under the pastorate of Bishop James E. Tyson. She worked diligently in the church and was on the hospitality board, nursing board, was secretary of the overcomers class, and worked in the church kitchen. She worked at IU hospital for several years and later worked at Wishard Hospital as a medical assistant in the OB-GYN clinic. She retired from Wishard in 1996 after 30 years of service. After retirement Jennie worked as a hairdresser and at Marsh Supermarket in the deli part time.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Forest Bostic on November 12, 2021. She is also preceded by three sisters and two brothers.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving son, Fondrea Bostic and partner Jennifer Walters, as well as six remaining siblings, Bernice Gamble, Veronica Lane, Shirley Buggs, Hattie Taylor, Ellison (Jothenia) Porter, and Cevell Porter, four Grandchildren, Pharoah Bostic, DeAjah Bostic, DeAndre Bostic, and Zoey Bostic, two Great Grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Jennie will be held Thursday, April 24, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Crown Hill Funeral Home, 700 W. 38th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46208, followed by a celebration of life at 12:00 PM.
