Harold E. Bond passed away peacefully in his home Monday, June 28, 2021. He was born December 27, 1924 in Maywood, IL to Fred and Francis Bond. He is survived by his older brother Howard, children David (Beverley), Sean (Sheila) and Diana (Jeff Larson) as well as 4 grandchildren – David Larson, Elspeth (Naramore), Anna (Powers), Katie Taylor and 9 great-grandchildren. His wife of 70 years, Pauline (Jensen) passed away in 2018.
Harold was proud of his service in the Marine Corps. He graduated after his service years from Purdue University with a degree in Electrical Engineering and received an MBA from Northwestern while working and raising a family. Harold spent most of his life working for Underwriters Laboratories, initially as an inspector and finally as the Treasurer. He and Pauline loved to travel, garden, cook and keep up with good friends. In retirement while living in Bloomington, they mentored international students attending Indiana University. He was always generous financially with those in need. He will be missed by family members and many friends around the world. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association @ https://act.alz.org
