Mother Elizabeth Martin Brandon Hutcherson Greene was born on June 27, 1931 in Columbia, TN to William and Fannie Brandon. Later, she was adopted and raised by Howard Hutcherson and Emma Hutcherson (Martin).
Elizabeth accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of East 8th Street Church of God, Sanctified in Columbia, TN. She showed a gift for music, and was an accomplished Keyboardist on piano and organ.
She received her education in the Maury County TN School System, graduating from College Hill High School in 1949. She and her parents relocated to Nashville, TN where she attended Fisk University.
In 1956, Elizabeth married Willie Gene Greene and moved to Indianapolis, IN. From this union was born one son, Alfred Tyrone Greene.
As a long time member of the Church of God Sanctified, Elizabeth was part of the local and national music departments playing hymns and gospel songs of praise at meetings and conventions. She was also an accompanist on piano for many soloists and played for weddings, programs and funerals when requested.
Elizabeth also worked as a valued housekeeper for many years until retirement.
Elizabeth was called home to rest on October 30, 2023 after a long illness. She was preceded in death by husband Willie Gene Greene, sisters Helen Anthony, Maggie Miles, Bessie Kimble and Annie Scott, brothers, Thessaly Brandon, Theopolis Brandon, William Brandon, RD Brandon, Charles Brandon and Leonard Brandon, grandchildren, Jonnathyn Resnover and Justin Resnover.
Elizabeth is survived by her beloved son Alfred T. (Beverly) Greene and grandchildren; John Jr., Jaava
(Lynn), Daryll Sr., Ivan, Roena and Myko Resnover, Septymber Resnover Bourne and Andrea Sims. And
also a host of great grandchildren, in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and church family.
A visitation for Elizabeth will be held Saturday, November 18, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Bethany Rembrandt Church of God Sanctified, 908 Edgemont Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46208, followed by a celebration of life at 12:00 PM.
