Edward L. "Bay Boy" Richardson was born September 30, 1931, in Indianapolis, IN to Mary Wilkerson Richardson and Curtis Richardson.
Edward and his lifelong partner and wife, Ruby L Bouye Richardson, who he nicknamed "Fats", have remained together since 1966- 54 years.
Edward loved sweets, dogs, cars, gadgets and most of all, his jigsaw puzzles. He was a hard-working man and always kept busy. He retired from both Chrysler and the City of Indianapolis Parks Department before opening Barrington Variety Store in the neighborhood he grew up in. Edward retired from store ownership in 2013 after 20 years.
Edward also had a passion for kids and served as a mentor for many years at community centers and through the parks department.
On March 16, 1957, Edward entered the United States Military, served for six years and was decorated as a Marksman.
Mr. Edward L. "Bay Boy" Richardson departed this life on Thursday, August 6, 2020, at home surrounded by his loved ones. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Mrs. Deloris Gene Radford and Annella Washington; a brother, Wilbert Gene Eberhardt; son Keith Jones; step-children, Mary Lois McKeller, Carmen Bouye Eason, Alvin Bouye Sr., and Kevin Bouye.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Richardson; son, Steve Quick (Leslie); daughter, Teresa Caruthers; step-children, Latashi Reynolds (Anthony, Sr.), Vivian Bentley, Michael Bouye (Teresa) and Bradford Bouye; niece, Diane Strader, with whom he shared a very special sister-like relationship. A host of loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, great-great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
