Duane Bishop, the son of James L. Bishop Sr. and Clara L. Bishop, was born January 16, 1964 in Indianapolis, IN.
Duane attended IPS School #42 and later graduated from Crispus Attucks High School in 1982. His classmates admired him for his academics especially in mathematics.
Duane went on to start a career at Methodist Hospital in nutrition and dietetics. He was a very dedicated employee. He would go on to service hospital patients and staff there for over 35 years.
Duane enjoyed playing basketball, fishing, and cooking. He was content with being in the comfort of his home especially if he was amongst family and friends. Whenever you were around him, you could always count on him for a good laugh. When he decided to make a public appearance, he made sure to wear one of his stylish hats and pair of shoes.
Duane Bishop departed this life on Sunday, April 5, 2020 at the age of 56.
He was preceded in death by his father, James L. Bishop, mother, Clara L. Bishop and other loving siblings.
He leaves cherished memories to his, former wife and mother of his children, Vicky Bishop; one daughter, Brenda (Joshua) Farrow and one son, Duane J. Bishop; his siblings, Lucinda Bishop, Larry McBride, Gerald Bishop, Yvonne Anderson, Vickie Bishop and Darrell Bishop; his grandchildren, Levi Bishop, Carter Bishop, Joshua Farrow, Mason Bishop, Jordyn Farrow and a host of loving family and friends.
Services will be private.
