Doris Jean Craig

Doris Jean Craig, 97, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2024, in Brownsburg, Indiana. Born in Spencerville, Indiana, she earned her RN certification from Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Indiana. She served nearly 30 years of her long nursing career in the maternity department at Lutheran hospital. Faithful wife for 64 years, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she was cherished and respected by her family and friends. She attended Faith Church in Indianapolis for nearly 20 years and became known as an encourager to its pastors. Doris was preceded in death by her husband John, her youngest son Richard and two grandchildren, Lindsey and Grant. She is survived by her sister Cleo (Bruce) Hehn, brother Robert Chapman, children Donald (Sandra), James (Linda), and Jean (Robert) Guy, daughter-in-law Shelia, 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. The family is planning a memorial service in the near future. Her remains will be interred at Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
