Mr. DeWayne “BUCKY WAYNE” Watson, was born on February 23, 1954 to Johnnie Lee Gibson-Watson & Doracell Watson Sr. in Indianapolis, Indiana. DeWayne attended Arsenal Tech High School where he graduated in 1972. After, high school DeWayne immediately joined the United States Army. After, being honorably discharged, DeWayne was employed at Western Electric, AT&T (retired), and Mauser Corporation where he had to medically retire in February of 2020, which was a sad day for DeWayne. DeWayne professed his love for and devoted his life to Christ at an early age, where he was a member at Sunny Mount Baptist Church under the leadership of his uncle, the late Pastor Otis Gibson. DeWayne went on to join Ambassador Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Alexander Spencer. After, several years DeWayne went on to join Mt. Helm Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of, the late Pastor Winfred R. Goodner. DeWayne was also an ordained minister. DeWayne “BUCKY WAYNE” had a very special bond with his niece, Donicia Tribue; brother-n-law, Wayne Neal; and nephew in-law, Keith Tribue Sr. He loved and enjoyed spending time with family during the holidays and talking/texting with certain people and loved to help others. Dewayne “Bucky Wayne” was given his nickname by his baby sister Marsha who he called “Kid”. DeWayne “BUCKY WAYNE” Watson passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024. God blessed us to share in the seasons of Bucky Wayne’s life as he made a difference in the lives he touched. He was preceded in death by both parents, Johnnie Lee Watson-Gibson & Doracell Watson Sr.; brothers, Doracell Watson Jr. aka “Son”, Delawrence Watson, Dan Watson aka “DJ”, and Delendio Watson Sr.; sisters, Mary Hogan, Melva Watson, and Mae Roxie Moore. He leaves precious memories to be cherished by his sisters, Marie Pryor (Ike), Marvis Bennett, Marian Neal (Wayne), Marsha Browning, and Corniece Watson-Patton (Thomas); and a host of nieces, nephews, greatnieces, great-nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. A visitation for DeWayne "BuckyWayne" will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024 in the Chapel of Williams & Bluitt Funeral Home beginning at 10:00am and commencing at 12:00pm with the start of his celebration of life service. Williams & Bluitt Funeral Home wishes to extend our heartfelt condolences to the Watson family and a sincere thank you for allowing us to serve you and your beloved DeWayne "BuckWayne" Watson.
