James was born April 21, 1976, in Indianapolis to loving parents James Denton Burdine Jr. and Jeannie Ellen nee Williams. He was married to his soul mate and love of his life Lyn Marie Rupert on October 25, 2015, in Nineveh, Indiana. He was a graduate of Arlington High School, Indianapolis, Indiana; class of 1995.
James graduated from the Sheriff’s Academy in 2014. He was a former law enforcement officer at Wishard Hospital, Marion County Sheriff’s Office – Jail Division, and the Southport, Indiana Police Department. James was proudly serving as a Corporal at the Marion County Sheriff’s Department and served as a Safety Officer with several local businesses.
He was preceded in death by grandparents: James Denton Burdine Sr., Emma Ellen nee Kirgan Burdine, John and Gladys Williams.
James is survived by his loving wife Lyn Marie nee Rupert Burdine, children Savannah Nicole Burdine (Hector Flores), Dallas, Texas; Evelyn Ann Burdine, Indianapolis, Indiana; Alisha Marie (Shawn DeHart), James Clinton Nowaczyk and Raegen Elizabeth Nowaczyk, Indianapolis, Indiana; Grandson Atlas James Flores, Dallas, Texas; Parents James Denton Burdine Sr. and Jeannie Ellen nee Williams, Shelbyville, Indiana, Sister Charity Shawn Burdine, Shelbyville, Indiana; Brother-In-Law Jonathon (Meighan) Rupert; Sister-In-Law Michelle (James) Lambert; Father and Mother-In-Law Chris and Laura Elmore; numerous nieces and nephews.
James loved his family, was an avid Colts fan, loved to travel, family game night and exploring wineries and loved Irish whiskey. He enjoyed playing with babies and was blessed with his only grandson, Atlas.
Services will be held Friday, December 27th at Little and Sons Funeral Home, 4901 E. Stop 11 Road, Indianapolis, Indiana. Visitation 1-4 PM, Service 4 PM, Cremation to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family of Lyn Burdine for the benefit of Evelyn Burdine his 8-year-old daughter.
