Dave was born in Mansfield, Ohio and graduated from Ohio State University with an Electrical Engineering degree. He began his career at Delco Remy Division, General Motors continuing at Delphi, and then Remy Electric (now Borg Warner), retiring after 30 plus years.
Dave was interested in cars, insisting that a car had to have a stick shift to be called a sports car, and attended numerous Indianapolis 500 and Brickyard 400 races. Dave enjoyed the simple pleasures in life - reading, spending time with his grand nieces and nephews, boating on the beautiful waters of Lake Cumberland, and enjoying a perfectly grilled steak and a beer.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Conrad and Sue Schuster, his son John Schuster, his sister Randi Weinstock, and his nephew Jeremy Cohen. He is survived by his son Jim Schuster, former wife Lisa Schuster, his brother Tim (Penny) Schuster, and many nieces, nephews, and close friends. A memorial service and mass will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church-Geist on Friday, December 13th, 2024 at 11:00 AM with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dave’s memory may be made to the Kyle R. Magoto Scholarship Fund and sent to Community Foundation of Shelby County (In memory of Dave Schuster/Kyle Magoto Scholarship Fund), 100 South Main Avenue, Suite 202, Sidney, OH 45365.
