David Marion Johnson Sr.

David M. Johnson Sr., 75 of Indianapolis passed away on November 15, 2022, at his Crawfordsville Home after a courageous 2-year battle with Cancer with his wife Cindie by his side. David was born in Wanamaker, IN to Gilbert and Helena Johnson on July 3, 1947. He attended Scecina Memorial High School and IUPUI. David married Cindie Whitsit on April 23, 1983, in Indianapolis. David worked at RCA as a Computer Analyst / Manager of Logistics for 30 years. After leaving RCA he worked for Eli Lilly for 10 years as Manager of IT Security. He was a Vietnam Veteran and served in the Army with numerous Medals. David was an active member of the Moose Lodge 521 and the American Legion Post 186 in Spring Hill Florida. He enjoyed fishing, swimming and spending time with his family. David is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Gilbert, Richard and Daniel. David is survived by his wife of 39 years, Cindie, children: David Jr., (Suzann), Mark (Kim), Kristina Lewis (Corey), Lindsey Eberwine (Andrew), Derrick (Ginny) grandchildren; Shelby, Darrin, Katlyn, Cade, Gabe, Ashley, Mya, Rowan, Silas, Griffin, Riley and Emma Rose. He is dearly missed by our fur Babies, Lucy and Dexter. Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Friday, November 25,2022 at Crown Hill Funeral Home located at 700 West 38th St, Indianapolis, IN 46208, with visitation from 1pm In lieu of flowers the Family are requesting that you please send a Charitable Donation in David's name to one of the following: Disabled American Veterans (DAV), HVAF (Homeless Veterans and Families) or Wounded Warriors Project.
