Connie Edwards

Connie M. Edwards was born August 22nd, 1950, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Rachel Mae, John A. Edwards II. She attended Elementary Schools #37 & #56 and later graduated from Arsenal Tech High School in 1968.

Connie later attended Indiana Business College where she obtained an associate degree in Accounting/ Booking and a Legal certification diploma from Stratford University. Later, she would move on in her Education to pursue a QMA license from Ivy Tech. She worked for over 50 plus years in the Health Care industry and retired from Cambridge Healthcare Corporation after 27 years of service.

Connie had a passion for gardening and planted numerous variations of roses and Rose bushes all throughout her yard. She loved to draw, and she loved to create arts and crafts, and play music, especially Gospel music. Her other hobbies were shopping and reading natural herb books and coming up with remedies to cure common illnesses. She had a passion for Journaling and collecting books and antiques.

Connie was also known for keeping it real and her straight forward honest opinions. She loved to have family gatherings with her children and grandchildren. Connie was also known for being a partnership with Ernest Lane “Big Ricky” which was the love of her life. They were an inseparable couple. She was a loving devoted Mother and grandmother and will be missed by all of them.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents Rachel Mae Edwards and John A. Edwards II, and her brothers Donald A. Watson, and John A. Edwards III. Along with Ernest Lane III, her life partner.

She leaves behind her children Christella Lane, Melba Lane, Ricky Lane, Candi Lane, Ryan Edwards, and Spencer Lane. Stepchildren Kathy Brookins, and Charlett Louis. She also leaves behind her 18 Grandchildren and a host of Great Grandchildren. She also leaves behind her brothers and sisters Marion Edwards Carlisle, Charlotte Cole Edwards, Jimmy Edwards, Nora Thompson, Stanley Edwards, and Douglas Edwards.
