 Obituario de Cathy Lynn Winkle
Cathy Lynn Winkle (Howard) was born May 24, 1954 at Major Hospital in Shelbyville Indiana. Her parents were Dale and Anna Lucille Howard (Turner). She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Christy Crum (Howard). Surviving member of her family is her husband of 41 years, James Winkle, and niece Lynn Crum and her father Gary Crum. Cathy was a gentle soul who never harmed anyone or anything. She was a free spirit. Her parents moved to Indianapolis when she was 5 years old, where she attended Franklin Central Schools. Her dream was to be a Forest Ranger. Unfortunately her eyesight kept her from living that dream. She worked for Indiana Bell up to the time she had to retire. Cathy met her loving husband, James Neal Winkle, at a Racers Hockey Game. They were married on February 14, 1981. Cathy enjoyed sunsets, wandering clouds, windmills, hot air balloons, and ice hockey. She was President of the St. Joseph Neighborhood Association, Chaired many committees and was instrumental in getting our neighborhood on the National Register, even though she was legally blind. Cathy was an organ donor, and participated in MS Research. Upon her death they took tissue samples and various organs to save the lives of others. She will be deeply missed. In lieu of sending flowers, please send a donation to Cat's Haven (www.CatsHaven.org) in memory of Cathy.
