Carrie confessed her life to Christ at an early age. In 1958, Carrie relocated to Louisville, KY where she joined the Southern Star Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Charles Kirby.
In 1966, Carrie moved to Indianapolis, IN, and later was employed at Texecan Corp. In 1978, Carrie was married in Holy Matrimony to Richard L. Parker. In 1989, Carrie began working at Ford Motor Company and an assembler and member of UAW local union 1111. She worked there until 2002, retiring because of health conditions.
Carrie looked forward to her yearly trips to Louisville to participate in derby festivities with family and friends. Memorial Day every year she loaded up her children and grandchildren in her RV for family gatherings in Hopkinsville, KY. Family traditions continued when Carrie hosted family and friends for labor celebrations at her Indianapolis home.
Carrie leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters: Beverly Forte and Sheila Beamus, her granddaughter Sharee Greene, her great-grandson Kery Bell Dale, her godson, Kinte Mitchell, and great godson Meonte Mitchell, all of Indianapolis,IN. Also surviving is her great nephew, Sgt. Kavon Moss of Jacksonville, NC, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Carrie was preceded in death by her husband, R.L. Parker, her father, her mother, seven brothers, and six sisters.
