Jack is survived by sons Keith (Laura), Kevin (Marla) and Curtis (Sally); grandchildren Krystal (Kyle), James (Becky) and Charmaine; great grandchildren Payton, Jack, Keltyn and Klancee; sisters Carolle and Kathy.
He was predeceased by his wife Shirley, parents Pauline and Henry; and brothers Russell and Murray.
Known fondly as “Grader” to his family and friends, Jack was a passionate horseman, spending a lifetime with his hands on the reins whether saddled-up or hitched to a team. He managed the Strawberry Lake Community Pasture for over 37 years, in addition to beef and grain farming, raising horses and PMU production.
Well known for befriending people of all ages and walks of life, he loved a good story and enjoyed spending time with those closest to him.
Nothing would make him happier than a gathering of friends and family to share memories of a life well-lived. A celebration of his life was held in the Vibank Co-operative Community Centre on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at 1:30 p.m.
The family would like to thank the staff at William Albert House for providing Jack the highest standard for care, compassion and dignity in the final years of his life. They would also like to extend their gratitude to the staff on 4B and the Palliative team at the Pasqua Hospital and Grace Hospice.
