Ray "Gene"' Wilson of Independence, MO passed away on December 16th, 2024 at the age of 67. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life's challenges with a smile.
He was born to Herb and Retha Wilson on November 4th, 1957 in Hollywood, CA. After graduating from William Chrisman High School, Gene spent decades working at and retiring from Brunson Instrument Co. He took great pride in his work ethic and his job as a Optical Tooling Assembler.
His love of fishing was known to all who knew him, along with spending time on and at Truman Lake. Gene played football from the age if 7 until graduating from high school in 1976. He was a big college and professional football fan. NASCAR and local dirt track racing were other favorites of his.
Gene was united in marriage to Debbie Wilson (Rinke) on March 22nd, 1997.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Paul Stutts. Gene is survived by his wife Debra "Debbie" Wilson of the home; sisters: Theresa Stutts, JoAnn (Gary) Johnson and Michelle Wilson, all of Independence, MO; daughters: Kelly (Eric) Cotter of Smithville, MO, Michelle Beeghly and Erin Wilson, both of Independence, MO; grandchildren: Andrew, Haley, Emma, Micale, Joslyn, Dominic, Conner, Christian, Austin, and Kathy and a great granddaughter: Layloni.
Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, December 21st, 2024 from 4:00pm - 7:00pm at Newcomer's Noland Road Chapel located at 509 S. Noland Road, Independence MO 64050.
