Mr. James Mark Smith Sr., age 85, of Independence, Missouri, was born on September 15, 1938, in Dumas, Arkansas. He was the eldest son of Jack A. and Alice L. (Jones) Smith.
Mr. Smith was a Baptist. By trade he was a Machinist.
Mr. Smith departed this life on May 17, 2024, at his home in Independence. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers; Billy Joe, Jackie S. and Howard Paul and one grandson; Levi Light.
Survivors include his wife, Marie, one son; James Mark Smith Jr. of Anchorage, Alaska; two daughters, Elizabeth Ann and Sam Schaeffer of Blue Springs, MO and Cindy D. Smith Crapo of Independence, MO, one brother, Lannie and Mink Smith of Savannah, Georgia; 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
