Spiros was born in Pylos, Greece, the son of the late Athanasios and Paraskevi (Tsopoulas) Balodimas and the youngest of his siblings.
He moved to the United States in 1970 with his brother Nick and settled in Hyannis. Three years later, Spiros would meet and then marry Lela and raise their daughter in Hyannis.
Spiros was a self-employed builder and took pride in the many homes he built throughout the Cape. He loved the ocean and found pleasure in taking his boat out to fish in the waters off Cape Cod or even just walking along the harbor. He also enjoyed woodworking, building birdhouses and gardening. He was especially proud of his gardens and would share his handiwork with those visiting his home.
In addition to his wife, Lela, Spiros is survived by his daughter Vivian Kolovos, her husband Peter and their children Eleni and Irini of Dedham, MA. He is predeceased by his brother Nick and sister Georgia. Spiros also leaves behind many nieces and nephews in the United States and abroad and his beloved grand-dog.
