He was born on January 13, 1936 to Stanley and Helen Taylor in Dorchester Ma. Bob grew up in Westwood Ma. He was a stand out athlete graduating from Westwood High School in 1953 and inducted into their Hall of Fame in 1994. He attended Northeastern University and graduated from BU in 1959. He then served in the U.S. Army Reserve. Bob worked at Cambridge Electric, then was brought to Cape and Vineyard Electric to implement the underground utility systems for the Cape and Nantucket. He retired from Comm Electric in 1991 after 37 years of service.
Bob leaves his beloved wife Carole of 65 years, his children Jeff (Amy), Neal (patricia), Susan (David) Derosier, and Gary (Tiffany) Taylor. Papa also leaves behind his grandchildren, Nicole Derosier, Casey Taylor, Danielle Derosier, Jade Taylor, Gregory Taylor, Jack Taylor, Riley Taylor, and Kathryn Taylor. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his daughter Kathleen Taylor and his brother Charles Taylor. He is survived by his sister Linda Dunlap, numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Bob was extremely involved in the Barnstable community including 17 years coaching Barnstable youth hockey and baseball as well as being an avid golfer, card player, and several other hobbies.
The wake will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024 from 4:00-7:00 pm at Doane, Beal, and Ames Funeral home, 160 West Main St. Hyannis MA
The funeral mass will take place on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 11:00 am at St Francis Xavier Church on South St. Hyannis. Burial will be private.
