Paul A. Gargano, Esq., born January 9, 1938, in Cambridge MA, passed in peace surrounded by his family on July 23, 2021 in West Hyannisport, MA. Devoted husband to his wife Sheila (Drohan) Gargano, with whom he shared 58 years of marriage, loving father to Alison Gargano DaPonte, Esq. and her husband Michael, Melissa Gargano Strong and her husband Adam, and his late son Paul N. Gargano. He loved and was adored by his three grandchildren, Andrew, Mary and Emelia DaPonte. Son of the late Mary and Nicolo Gargano and brother to Lucy Daigle, uncle to Cynthia Xanakis and Paul Daigle, great uncle to Jason Xanakis.
Paul accomplished anything he set his mind to and helped many in his lifetime. At the age of six his noted ambition was to be a lawyer. He achieved this after graduating from Suffolk Law School in 1963. He helped and represented people out of his true love of the law and caring nature. He wrote and published textbooks defining and clarifying the Workers Compensation laws for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Paul enjoyed many notable accolades throughout his legal career and in turn gave back to his community including establishing scholarships at Suffolk Law School, thus giving back greatly to the scholarship system that benefitted him.
Family was the core that drove Paul’s life and heart. He dedicated his everything to creating a loving, fun, enriching life for his family that included a lifetime at the beach in Nantasket, Cape Cod, Nantucket, the Cayman Islands, and skiing in New Hampshire and Vermont. Paul’s capacity of love and devotion to his family and Creator shined through to all who met him.
A wake will be held at the Doane, Beal, & Ames Funeral Home, 160 West Main St, Hyannis, MA, on Thursday, July 29, 2021 from 10:00-11:30 am to be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Victory Church, 230 S.
