Mary was born in Brockton, Ma, to Harold “Harry” and Gertrude “Trudy” Sylvester. She graduated from Saint Joseph’s College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education. Mary was a beloved teacher in the Connecticut school system for over 30 years. In 1989, she was voted Enfield Teacher Of The Year. During her teaching tenure she held the positions of Vice President as well as President of the Enfield Teachers Association (ETA). Following her retirement, she relocated back to her childhood home in Hyannis and reconnected with her many friends from her early school years. She enjoyed outings to see performances at The Melody tent as well as local shows featuring Hyannis Sound and Sons of Serendip. She also cherished her lunches with the “lunch bunch” and spending time hosting friends and family at her beloved Cape Cod home.
