Karen R. Sweeney, 55, passed away on December 24, 2020 after an illness with cancer. Karen was born in Plainfield, NJ. She attended school in South Plainfield, NJ and graduated from Ramapo College in 1987. She was Vice President of Operations for Barnes and Noble College book stores.
Karen enjoyed her many stays on Cape Cod, playing with her beloved cat, Fenway. Karen travelled extensively in Europe. She mostly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. All who know her will miss her- a great light has gone out.
Karen’s family would like to thank Millie Drain for the loving care she gave to Karen.
She was the daughter of Grace Sweeney of Cape Cod, sister of two brothers: Thomas of Easthampton, NJ and Kevin J. of Cape Cod. She also leaves behind a nephew Kevin S. Sweeney of Los Angeles, CA, a niece Leslie Geraghty and husband Conor of Westborough, MA, a grandnephew Brendan and a grandniece Grace Geraghty.
Due to COVID-19, there will be no visiting hours. Funeral mass will be at Our Lady of Victory, Centerville, MA on January 2, 2020 at 11 am. Burial will be at Mosswood Cemetery, Cotuit, MA.
