Karen Louise Bryant

She was born to the late Frances and Cathleen Bednark at Cape Cod Hospital on September 26, 1950. Karen graduated from Barnstable High School in 1968 and later received an Associate’s Degree from Cape Cod Community College.

Karen was a free spirit with a passion for adventure who moved to New York City at seventeen years old. A Cape Codder at heart she eventually returned to the family home where she could forever be found in flip-flops and a striped shirt, surrounded by family and friends. The consummate hostess, her door was always open to neighbors and loved ones alike. She loved throwing a good party and particularly loved hosting family dinner picnics on Mayflower Beach in Dennis.

Karen is survived by her daughter Bridget Dunn, nieces Cara Odell and Meghan Toban, nephew Jonathan Bednark, loving companion Ken Elliot, dearest friend Makayla Yates and grand-children Lylah and Declan.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

A service will be held 3-6p.m., Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Doane Beal & Ames Funeral Home.
