Judy Eleanor Underwood

Born on July 4, 1942 in Manhattan, NY, Judy moved to Cape Cod settling in Barnstable. While raising her family, Judy worked at a Skilled Nursing Facility in Centerville. Along with her children, Judy was also involved with the Salvation Army in Hyannis. As a member of the church, she became a soldier, and attended both services and numerous retreats. For many years, she could be found ringing bells as a volunteer in front of Kmart for the Salvation Army. She truly found this a gift and an opportunity until declining health prevented her.

Judy’s greatest passion was her grandchildren. She loved playing games and making arts and crafts with them. She especially enjoyed attending the fireworks on her birthday with them. She could often be seen walking or riding her pink bike throughout Hyannis.

She is survived by her son Mark Underwood and his wife Laurie of Rockland, MA; Trina Underwood and John Thompkins of Mashpee, MA; Elyssa Hansen of Hyannis, MA; and many grandchildren.

Visitation will be on April 28th from 10-12 at Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 160 West Main Street, Hyannis, MA 02601. Funeral service will immediately follow.
