Born on March 31, 1918, in Boston, MA, he was the son of the late
Thomas and Mary Crockan.
John proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII. For many years, he
worked for the U.S. Postal Service at the Sagamore Beach and Hyannis
Post Offices.
He was a member of the American Legion and a Communicant of St.
Francis Xavier Church in Hyannis. He enjoyed long walks and was a New
England Patriots fan. More than anything, he cherished the time that
he shared with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Mary
(Harrington) Crockan.
He is survived by his son, James Crockan and his wife, Cheryl of
Yarmouthport; his daughter, Patricia Rauchhaus and her husband, George
of Indiana; his grandchildren, McCourtney Crockan of Buzzards Bay and
Tylar Blosfield of Indiana; as well as his great grandchildren, Isaac
Hall and Kylena Lopez.
Friends may call from 4-7 pm on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Doane, Beal
& Ames Funeral Home, 160 West Main Street in Hyannis. A Mass of
Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Friday, June 20,
2014 at St. Francis Xavier Church, 347 South Street in Hyannis.
Burial will follow in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Centerville.
