Born in Callao, Peru on October 19, 1921, he was the son of the late Peter and Laura (Orbegoso) Oliva.
Elio proudly served in the U. S. Air Force during WWII.
He was a master craftsman and wood worker. Being a member of the Marine Modelers Club, he had built many remote control submarines and boats. At one time, he had established a school for disabled children in Barnstable and also volunteered as the wildlife conservation officer in Mashpee. More than anything, he cherished the time that he shared with his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Lorraine Oliva of Centerville; his two sons, Peter Oliva and his wife, Susan of Sutton, Alaska, Robert Oliva of Sterling, MA; his three daughters, Pamela Kadmiri of Weymouth, MA, Suzan Craig and her husband, David of Centerville, MA, Betty DeLeo and her husband, Leo of Saugus, MA; his grandchildren, Peter M. Oliva, Daniel Oliva, Jason Oliva, Jennifer Oliva, Jeffrey Oliva, Jaime Perkins, Shannon Flynn, Brandon Craig, Michael Craig, Melissa DeLeo, Alexis DeLeo; two great grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 18, 2013 at Our Lady of Victory Church, 230 South Main Street, Centerville, MA 02632.
Burial at Massachusetts National Cemetery will be private and at the convenience of the family.
