Dorothy Ell Strong

"GG", of Natick and Harwichport, MA passed away, at the age of 96, on Saturday Oct. 29th at The Mayflower Place in W. Yarmouth, MA.

She earned undergraduate degrees at Lasell Junior College, Auburndale, MA class of 1936 and DePauw University, Greencastle IN, class of 1938 where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma. Dorothy received her Master of Education at Boston University in 1940.

Commissioned as a Lt. Cdr. W USN, Oct.1942 - June 1946,

Dorothy Ell served as District Transportation Officer for the East Coast during World War II.

Dorothy was the daughter of Carl Stephens Ell, 2nd President of Northeastern University, Boston, MA and Etta Kinnear Ell. She is survived by two of her three children Susan Strong Passmore of Dover, MA, Judson Ell Strong of Lake Bluff, Il, and Rebecca Strong Gleason, of Harwich, MA, deceased. Dorothy leaves five grandchildren: Jared Strong Passmore, Cameron Stephens Passmore, Judson Hancock Strong, Judson Daniel Gleason, and Alesia Strong Gleason.
