Robert "Mac" Joseph McConnell

He is survived by a loving wife for 22 years Mildred, 2 sons Robert and Jeromie, his mother Faith and Stepfather Peter Sturmfels.

Robert MAC signed up with the Army when he was 17 years old and served for over 16 years as a M1 Abrams Tank System Mechanic. His assignments during that time we’re Germany and the middle east. After his Active Duty service he spend many years working as civilian for the Army in the middle east and north east Asia. His years before his short retirement he served in civil service for the Army in Korea and Alabama.

Visitation for Robert will be held Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Valhalla Funeral Home & Memory Gardens, 698 Winchester Rd NE, Huntsville, Alabama 35811, followed by a celebration of life service at 12:00 PM. Mac will be laid to rest at Valhalla Memory Gardens
